From Break Room to Heart Space
New Social Spaces at RST Stahlbau – Designed for Togetherness
After twelve months of construction, RST Stahlbau has opened its newly renovated social spaces – and with them, a fresh perspective on how architecture can support everyday connection and well-being in the workplace.
Thoughtful planning, sustainable impact
From October 2022 to December 2024, pinkful led the design, technical planning and construction supervision of the project. 380 square metres of existing structure were reimagined and transformed – not with extravagance, but with clarity, intention, and care for what was already there.
This planning phase laid the foundation for everything that followed: a design process balancing function, spatial orientation, materiality, building services, time and budget – leading into realisation with precision and ease.
Design with respect
What drove the project was not trend, but respect – for people, for place, and for the craft.Tobias Steinhardt put it simply: “Out of respect for our team, we wanted to turn these old rooms into a new space for connection.” And that intention runs through every detail.
Bauherr Sebastian Steinhardt ensured a renovation that was as climate-conscious as it was people-focused. The result: spaces that are structured yet soft, quiet yet open, natural and enduring – a place that feels good to be in, and brings people together.
A space that gives back
This is more than a renovation. It’s a statement. It shows what’s possible when we treat interior architecture not as a backdrop, but as a vital part of company culture.
A shared space that invites conversation.A pause in the day.A sense of belonging.
Here’s to many good moments in this new chapter at RST Stahlbau.
